Wilmot Mountain's Winter Wonderland is a ski-play area for children ages 4 to 9 years old. Winter Wonderland incorporates games with ski fundamentals that teach balance and build confidence. Specially trained instructors closely supervise the activities. Parents are free to pursue their own fun, confident that their children are learning the basics in a fun safe environment.
We have four different fun-filled programs available for all levels of learning:
Winter Wonderland Terrain Garden
The kids are introduced to their skis and all the ways they can move on the snow! We explore balance, shuffling, walking, sliding, turning and stopping.
Winter Wonderland Surface Lift (Rope Tow) Area
The kids learn to take their ski moving skills to the next level. They focus on linked turns, speed control, stopping and skier safety . . . everything they need to get to the top of the chairlift!
Winter Wonderland Cruisers
Look at us Cruise this mountain! The Cruisers have a great time putting mileage on those skis and learning. We try to improve linked turns, turn shape, turn refinement, speed control and focus on skier safety. There are 3 levels of Cruisers available based on skier ability. The children will be taught how to load and unload the chair lift. All Cruisers must be able to link turns at a controlled speed on the rope tow runs before moving to the chairlift.
Mighty Mites
The Mighty Mites program is open to young skiers who are able to ride the chairlift on their own, ski all terrain at Wilmot, and are ready for a skiing adventure! Team members will improve their skiing skills through all mountain skiing and appropriate race training.
Please register early at the Winter Wonderland counter next to the Ski School Desk in the main lodge at least an hour and a half before your class begins. Thanks!
All Winter Wonderland lessons are 2 hours.
Private Lessons are also available every day for $55.00 per hour.
Semi-private lessons are $65.00 for 2 skiers.
